Problems installing 911966 hotfix rollup

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=911996

Has anyone tried out the post-SP1 rollup of hotfixes yet on their 2005
environment?

I have been testing it in the lab without success. The environment is
a simple one with a Backend (BE1) and two Frontends (FE1 and FE2) in a
child domain off the root. All of it has been working fine up till now with
Windows 2003 SP1 and LCS 2005 SP1 applied to all servers.

I have applied the rollup in the stated order:-
1. stop the LCS service on the FrontEnds
2. run it on the backend with the Poolname=XXX parameter (using the
FQDN of the pool)
3. run it on the frontends (where it restarts the service as well)

Once this is all done I get the error message referred to within the KB
article that implies I did it in the wrong order and/or used a
different version of the update. See below.

A reboot of all servers does not help either.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Mark

critical error: code C3EE78F8 (Enterprise Edition Server successfully
registered with the backend, but a stored procedure version mismatch

To resolve this issue, make sure that you use the same installation
package for the front-end servers and the back-end servers."
