I've some questions about "LCS/OCS Proxy Server" in different domain setup.

Case1:
1 domain and 1 subdomain

domain: abc.com
subdomain: xyz.abc.com

application: LCS 2005 / OCS 2007

Q: Does it need to setup a "LCS/OCS Proxy Server" to allow user communicate between different domain?
(e.g. can "user1@abc.com" add "user2@xyz.abc.com" without setup a "LCS/OCS Proxy Server"?

Case2:
1 forest 2 domain

domain1: abc.com
domain2: xyz.com

application: LCS 2005 / OCS 2007
