In our environment, LCS 2005 is already going smoothly. What we are trying to is Voice and Video from external users on our laptops - with 2005 as far as I know can only be done over VPN with our network config.

Auto signin without the VPN is going fine. We can do presence and chat through our access proxy fine.
When a user establishes the VPN (its a MS PPtP), auto sign-in fails. It tries to connect to our external IP for the Access Proxy.

Indicating it is using the DNS from their internet connection. not the VPN DNS (which I thought was the primary once the tunnel was established)

If I get the user to Specifiy the LCS server in their communicator client, they can sign in and are able to do Voice and Video (the quality is quite acceptable too).

Has anyone ever come across the same problem as this before and resolved it? I need to leave the client in automatic mode so out end users dont need to change anything.
