Can LCS 2005 be installed on just one server?

Hi

I tried installing LCS 2005 on the lone SBS 2003 R2 server I have to play around with. I realize that in an enterprise, one server may not cut it, but there it is, that's what I have to work with for now. The only tutorial I have found uses a 2 and 3 server scenario.

In any case just wondering if it is possible to install LCS 2005 in a single server environment with above mentions SBS Server 2003 R2 Premium, with the SQL server installed before hand.

I have tried the installation twice already and it seems to go through with no errors, ..the install log has all green check marks..howerver I am unable to actually connect to the server from a client on the LAN. ( The server is dual homed and acts as gateway to the LAN using ISA Server ). The firewall shows the client trying to connect on port 5060 ( I'm just using the TCP option for now for the sake of simplicity ) and gives a message that the connection was actively refused, the firewall isn't blocking the connection.

Using the diagnostic tools it appears that everything is working fine, it's just the LCS Server won't respond to the client.

The MMC console app for LCS server is all green check marks except for the certificate which is a Red X. I believe that a certficate is not a requirement for local TCP connection? If not please disabuse me of that notion. Anyway, I created a certificate for LCS 2005 to use that uses the server as it's own root authority. Is this something that is allowed...I'm not real conversant with the whole certificates thing.

If I try to manually start the LCS Server, and connect from the LAN client, I some times get a process running at 100% on one of the CPU cores that I have to kill manually.
